Now You’re Talking My Language!

Here’s a twist on showing gratitude…

What’s your love language? This is the way that you express and receive love.

The main categories are words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, and physical touch.

Is there someone who just “gets” you and speaks your “love language”? Tell them how grateful you are for the way they make you feel!

What are the languages of your loved ones? Think of what makes them feel seen and valued.

Here are some ideas for how you can express your gratitude in ways they’ll appreciate.

Words of affirmation: Express genuine compliments, words of appreciation, and encouragement with an unexpected call… thank you note… text… email… post it note.

Acts of service: Do something that will make their life easier or more comfortable.

Gifts: Go beyond the monetary value and consider the meaning behind the gift along with the process…reflecting on what they would enjoy, the symbolism, listening to know what the other person is excited about.

Quality time: Plan some time to give your undivided attention with your full presence.

Physical touch: Hug, kiss, hold hands, show physical affection

What a special gesture it is to communicate in a way that someone naturally receives and expresses love!
