Build a Solid Foundation

Foundation -

not only, provides the structural integrity of a building or a smooth surface for make-up application -

It’s the basis or groundwork of anything!

Starting a meditation practice can have ups and downs like any new habit. The stronger your foundation, the more it all makes sense, and the more likely you are to stick with it!

Sarah Mclean, my mentor, created The Five Essentials of Meditation. They’re 5 concepts that can be applied to many different meditation techniques.

When teaching people to meditate, I often help them build the foundation of their practice by starting with these ideas.

As Jon Kabat Zinn has said, “The true meditation is how you live your life.” So, not surprisingly, the essentials, are also helpful reminders for daily life!

Follow the link for access to five mini meditations practicing each of the essentials- each is around 5 minutes. Do one a day for 5 days to ease yourself into the habit.

The only way to start anything is to take that first step. Then another. Then another.

If you stumble or want to quit, because you feel like you’re doing it wrong, reach out for support. New habits come with lots of questions and sometimes discomfort. I’m here to help.

Happy (foundation) Building!
