Mindfulness Resources

Welcome!

Mindfulness is paying attention to the present moment without judgement;
learning to navigate all of our experience- the joys along with the challenges.

Techniques can be incorporated it into your day through a formal meditation or mindful living exercises.

I hope these resources are helpful for you and your support system.

If you have questions, I’m here to help!

From Our Session:

Mindful Moment

Here is a recording of a mindful moment.

This “formal” practice is helpful for regulating your nervous system, training your attention, emotional regulation and as a general reset.

Mindfulness Review

Watch this brief video for a review on what Mindfulness is and of the mindful living exercises that we practiced together.

Mindful Living Exercises:

Lower Belly Breaths- Activates your rest and digest response

Name It To Tame It- Helps to recognize your emotion and allows you to choose your response

The 5 Senses- Gets you out of your head and into your body. This can be calming and stop unproductive thought patterns or overthinking. Name 5 things you see, 4 things you hear, 3 things you feel, 2 things you smell and 1 thing you taste.

S.T.O.P- Great for a quick check-in on emotions and thoughts so you can choose a productive and compassionate response. (Stop. Take a breath. Observe (feelings, thoughts, sensations, tension), Proceed in the most compassionate and productive way for yourself and others.)

The Joy Workout

This workout was highlighted in the New York Times.

Here is a link to the article. (If you don’t have an account for The New York Times, you can get free access through the Denver Public Library.)

It was created by a psychologist combining the moves that researchers have identified in many cultures that are inspired by feelings of joy.

Always be safe when adding exercises to your routine and get approval by your doctor.
