Stop Telling Yourself BS!

Want to know one of the least helpful mindset games you can play?

It’s the “What If” game!

What if people think what I’m doing is stupid?

What if that person doesn’t like me?

What if they say no?

What if I fail (the interview, the new exercise program, the relationship, insert goal here)?

What if is a giant pool of self doubt, fear and anxiety!

It holds us back from taking action- and frankly, succeeding and growing!

We rarely say,

What if everything goes amazing and according to plan?

But, what if we did! (See what I did there ;)

Stop getting stuck in the negative narrative that you’re creating.

Stop casting yourself as a weak character.

Start creating opportunities for you to glow up

and live in the possibilities you know are there!

Here are some tips for shifting your mindset and taking action.

Think gRRR! Like a tiger, fierce and fearless ;)

  1. Realize that you’re doing it! Notice your self-talk after you have a spark of an idea to take a risk. If you’re already coming up with all of the reasons NOT to do any of them… If those reasons are rooted in “what ifs”… rewrite your narrative!

  2. Reframe failure as a learning opportunity. Instead of seeing failure as a negative thing, see it as a chance to learn and grow. Take the pressure off for any particular outcome and be proud of taking action!

  3. Be Realistic! Be open to small steps and small successes as you put yourself out there in “uncomfortable” ways. Sometimes we have to start again. Sometimes we need to pivot. None of that happens if we don’t first START! What is the first next step that you can take? (Try to say that 3 times fast! :)
